Life Coaching for Grief & Stuckness
Wendy’s Story

Wendy came to coaching carrying a lifetime of grief. So many people close to her had died that the weight of it had left her stuck in every area of her life.

She had three goals: a partner, a purpose, and her happiness back. It took longer than it does for most people, but not surprising, considering what she had been through. With persistent effort and inner work, she found all three.

From Grief & Stuckness to Love, Happiness and Life Purpose

“He’s an amazing coach, so intuitive it’s like he’s in your head in a really good way that helps you to uncover what you really want and what your purpose is.”

“I was stuck in my personal and professional life and he has helped me hugely to achieve my goals in both areas. I couldn’t recommend him more highly.”

Wendy Smith, EFT Practitioner and Coach, interviewed by Adam Tallamy, Life Coach, London.

When Wendy first came to Adam, she had been carrying grief for a long time. Not one loss but many, people she loved who had died throughout her life, and the accumulated weight of that had brought her to a standstill. She knew exactly what she wanted: a partner, a purpose, and her happiness back. What she did not know was why, despite everything she had tried on her own, none of it had moved.

What she found in the coaching was something she had not expected. She describes Adam as so intuitive it felt like he was inside her head, helping her to uncover not just what she wanted but what was actually in the way. Over the course of their work together, the blocks came down, the clarity arrived, and one by one, the goals she had set were achieved.

Seven years is a long time to work with a coach. It speaks to what became possible. Wendy found her partner. She found her purpose. And the happiness she had been searching for, the version that is not dependent on circumstances but rooted in who you are, that came too. She is now living that purpose directly: as a certified advanced EFT practitioner and accredited coach herself, Wendy works with people who are stuck, overwhelmed or held back by anxiety, helping them find clarity and move forward using the same kind of inner work that changed her own life.

One moment in her story stands out above the rest. For years, finding a partner had been one of her three goals, and she had wanted it deeply for a long time. The wanting itself had become its own kind of weight. Then, at a certain point in the coaching, something shifted. She reached a place of genuine acceptance: not giving up, not resignation, but a quiet knowing that she was going to be fine on her own. That she was already whole and as such she finally let go of ever meeting a man. Within a week of arriving at that place, he came into her life. It is one of those stories that is almost too neat to be true, except that it is, and Wendy tells it herself in the interview. The inner shift came first. The outer change followed almost immediately.

In the interview, Wendy is honest about what the work involves. It is not easy. It requires a willingness to look at yourself clearly and do the difficult things. But she is equally clear about what it produces, and the difference between the person she was when she started and the person she is now.
