She was too busy to find her life purpose?

Adam Tallamy life purpose coach discussing how being too busy can stop you finding your life purpose

Too Busy to Find Your Life Purpose?

What if the reason you still haven’t found your life purpose isn’t because you’re lost, but because you’re too busy to hear it?

One of my favourite moments as a life coach is when a client finds their life purpose in our session.

It happened just a few hours ago.

What helped her find her life purpose

I’ve been working with this client for around 12 weeks now. Her intention for working with me was to find more meaning and ideally to find her own life purpose.

We’ve done the foundational work, dealt with the day to day issues that were happening in her life, worked on some deeper patterns and issues, and as a result as always happens got her into a great place internally.

Not to say that anything was really wrong before but things can always be better.

Today we found the final piece. I call this ‘reverse Jenga’ because you’re trying to find the single piece that will cause whatever is blocking you to collapse.

Being too busy was blocking her from finding her life purpose

Busyness.

She is a busy lady and she has also filled her life with roles, responsibilities, work, hobbies and things to do.

Underneath it, as it so often is for so many people, was a part of her that didn’t quite feel good enough simply being herself.

When we worked through that, something changed.

She became still enough to realise:
“I’m already partly doing the thing I would really love to be doing.”

That was the magical life purpose moment.

Not because somebody handed her a completely new life purpose, but because she could finally see the thread that was already running through her life.

As a life purpose coach it’s not only one of my favourite parts of the job, it’s one of my favourite things in life. It’s fair to say I love it, largely because finding your life purpose is one of life’s most joyous moments and partly because I know that a lot of people are about to be uplifted by this person and their purpose.

The second most important day of your life is when you find your life purpose

There’s a famous quote, often attributed to Mark Twain:

“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.”

The Mark Twain attribution appears to be unsupported, but the message has endured because it captures something powerful about purpose.

And for successful people, this can become especially important.

You may have built the business, made the money, achieved the goals, raised the family, travelled the world or created a life that looks successful from the outside.

But eventually another question can appear:
What am I actually here to do?

If you’ve achieved a lot but feel that something is missing, life purpose coaching can help.
